The Eucharistic Miracles of the World

For nearly a year now, half of the pews in our parish have been closed due to Covid19 restrictions. However, those pews have found a new purpose during these challenging times. Through Lent, they will hold a portion of the Eucharistic Miracle display created by Blessed Carlo Acutis.

Carlo was an Italian teenager who died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15. He was very much like other teenage boys his age; he enjoyed video games, computers and the internet. But Carlo had a very deep love for something else: his Catholic faith and especially the Eucharist. Carlo attended Mass daily from a very young age and convinced his mother to attend with him. Carlo said, “My life plan is to always be connected to Jesus. [. . .] Our destination must be what is infinite, not what is finite. Infinity is our homeland. We have been expected in Heaven since time immemorial.”

Moved by his great love for the Eucharist, Carlo researched many of the Eucharistic miracles that have occurred around the world and designed a website for them to be displayed. He was beatified on October 10, 2020, and is on the path to be the first millennial saint.   It is part of his display that will now fill our vacant pews at St. Henry.

Each pew will contain 1-3 of these Eucharistic Miracles for parishioners to view before and after Mass, as well as during the week when the Church is open for private prayer, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM. As Catholics, we believe in the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Come and see the many miraculous ways in which the True Presence has been revealed over the centuries.
